Welcome to the Academic Affairs website for Santa Rosa Junior College. As the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Assistant Superintendent, I have the pleasure of overseeing the development and delivery of SRJC’s 160 certificate programs, 112 associate degree programs and a full range of academic support services. My mission is to help both faculty and students achieve their academic and professional goals.
These are very exciting times at the college, as we prepare to celebrate the 100th anniversary of SRJC’s founding in 2018. And with voters’ approval of a $410 million general obligation bond in November 2014, we have once again been given a wonderful vote of confidence from the community and the opportunity to further upgrade our facilities to better prepare students for transfer and career success.
Santa Rosa Junior College is consistently recognized for the quality of its educational programs at both the State and National level – in fact, our students’ grades actually go up once they transfer to four-year colleges and universities. In 2014-15, SRJC’s transfer rate for Universities of California was approximately 80% - 10% above the State average for CA community colleges.
We are constantly adapting our offerings to stay up to date with industry and better prepare students for transfer and career. This year, we are adding new programs in Mechatronics, 3D Printing and Manufacturing. As a leader in innovative instruction, SRJC currently offers nearly 70 degrees and certificates that students may complete largely online. The College continues to develop courses for online delivery to meet student demand for accessible education.
We also recently announced a new summer ‘Study in DC’ program, which builds upon the success of our established Study Abroad programs by offering 40 students a chance to travel to the Capitol and enhance their learning of American History and Government.
Whether your goal is transferring to an elite university, changing careers or brushing up on the basics, we have the right program for you. I’m proud to serve Santa Rosa Junior College, Sonoma County and you!
